1 Day: Marrakech_High Atlas_Ait ben Haddou_Ouarzazate_Skoura_Roses Valley_Boumaline Dades.

Early morning, our journey 4-day private Atlas Mountains and Desert tour start from Marrakech; crossing the High Atlas to the southeast and the Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2260m. After a drive through the impressive countryside, we will arrive at Talouet, where the residence of one of the most powerful Berber rulers is located. From the roof terrace, you will have a wonderful view of the snow-covered peaks of the High Atlas, giving you a glimpse of the South Moroccan flair. Then visit Ait Benhaddou and its old Ksar, one of the most picturesque and UNESCO world Cultural Heritage sites in Morocco. Continuing via Ouarzazate to the Dades valley (the route of Kasbahs), Immersed in exotic oasis landscapes amongst some of Morocco’s most impressive countryside. Here we will visit the Kasbah Amerdil in Skoura. Later, and travel through the valley of roses with its great fruit plantations and rose cultures, and arrive at the Dadès canyon where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view and a great look into the depths of the canyon at an altitude of 2100 m. Spend the night in a hotel characteristic of the country.

2 Day: Boumaline Dades_Todgha Canyons_Tinjdad_Erfoud_Merzouga.

Drive to the Todhra canyon, another of the countryside’s highlights. The river Todha has cut almost 300 m deep into the mountain massif and, at the most narrow spot, the canyon is no wider than 10 m. Subsequently, we will have the chance to walk through the oasis of Tinerhir before continuing our journey across the Dades valley to Tinejdad where you can visit a KSAR and a museum of cultural history. As we make our way to Erfoud, we will pass by the Ziz valley and the palm groves of the Tafailet (Morocco’s largest oasis region). Upon arriving in Erfoud, you will be able to visit a workshop in which the region’s fossil stones are processed.

In the afternoon, we will arrive at the oasis of Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi, Morocco’s largest connected sandy desert area with dunes of up to 100 m of height. Afterward, spend the rest of the day on a camel tour and take in the incredible sight of the desert sunset. You will have the option of either staying in a nomad’s tent in the midst of the desert or in a hotel at its edge.

3 Day: Merzouga_Risani_Alnif_Tazarinne_N’kob_Draa Valley_Old Caravan Route_Agdez_Ouarzazate.

In the morning, we will take a journey toward the Daa valley. On our way, we can visit a Souk (traditional market) in the village of Rissani, and pass by Tazzarine, a former palm oasis with a great Kasbah. As we arrive at the Draa valley, one of Morocco’s most fascinating river countryside, via N’kob, the road leads us along the Ouad Draa (Morocco’s longest river), with its endless palm oasis and picturesque Berber villages, each with its own typical Kasbahs. In Agdez, you will have the chance to visit the Ksar (fortified village) with the Kasbah Tamnougalte, the former center of the tribal region of the Mezguita Berbers. Afterward, we will continue our journey along another pass road toward Ouarzazate and arrive at Ait benhaddou. Here, you will spend the night at a traditional hotel.

4 Day: Ouarzazate_High Atlas_Marrakech.

After breakfast, we will depart from the Oasis and visit the provincial capital of Ouarzazate close by. We will take this opportunity to also visit one of the film studios, as the region surrounding Ouarazate has been popular among movie directors for a long time, thus earning the nickname “Hollywood of the desert”. The most famous point of interest in Ouarzazate is the Glaoui Kasbah Taourirt (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage). One of the country’s biggest Kasbahs, it used to be the official seat and residence of one of el Glaoui’s Khalifa and contains representative Moorish-style halls in addition to numerous residential rooms.
