Embark on an enchanting 8-day Morocco itinerary with our meticulously crafted desert tour itinerary. Experience the vibrant cities, explore ancient kasbahs, and marvel at the mesmerizing Sahara Desert. An unforgettable adventure awaits!

Our 1-day itinerary kicks off with an early morning departure from Marrakech. We begin by crossing the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass, which climbs to an elevation of 2260 meters (7415 feet). After this breathtaking drive through scenic landscapes, we arrive at Talouet. Here, you can explore the historical residence of a powerful Berber ruler and enjoy stunning views of the snow-capped High Atlas peaks from the rooftop terrace.

Next, we head to Ait Benhaddou, where you'll have the opportunity to explore the renowned Ksar, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site famous for its picturesque beauty. Our adventure continues through Ouarzazate and into the Dades Valley, known as the "Route of Kasbahs." This route, decorated with lush oasis landscapes, is among the most enchanting in Morocco. In Skoura, we will visit the historic Kasbah Amridil. We conclude this eventful day with an overnight stay in a hotel, offering a quintessential Moroccan experience.

Following breakfast, we'll drive to El-Kelaa-des-M’Gouna. Our journey begins with a scenic drive through the picturesque Valley of Roses, renowned for its extensive fruit plantations and rose cultures. As we continue along dirt roads, we'll eventually arrive at the magnificent Dadès Canyon. Here, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view and gaze into the depths of the canyon from an altitude of 2,100 meters (6,890 feet). Additionally, there is an option to embark on a memorable three-hour trek, guided by a local expert, in one of the region's best spots.

The adventure doesn't end there. We will conclude the day by spending the night in a hotel that captures the essence of the country, providing a comfortable and authentic experience.

After breakfast, we will head to the breathtaking Todhra Canyon, one of the countryside's most spectacular sights. Here, the Todra River has carved a nearly 300-meter-deep gorge through the mountain massif, narrowing to just 10 meters at its tightest point. After soaking in this awe-inspiring location, you’ll have the chance to stroll through the lush oasis of Tinerhir.

Next, our journey continues through the Dades Valley to Tinejdad, where you can explore a KSAR (a traditional fortified village) and a cultural history museum. As we proceed to Erfoud, we'll travel through the beautiful Ziz Valley and the extensive palm groves of Tafilalet, Morocco’s largest oasis region. In Erfoud, you will have the opportunity to visit a workshop specializing in the processing of the region’s famous fossil stones. Arriving in the afternoon at the mesmerizing oasis of Merzouga and the expansive Erg Chebbi, the largest continuous stretch of sand dunes in Morocco, you'll cap off your day with a memorable camel tour. Enjoy a stunning desert sunset and spend the night in a traditional nomadic tent or a cozy hotel at the desert's edge.
Our 8-days Morocco itinerary from Marrakech begins with a journey towards the Draa Valley. Along the way, we'll visit a Souk (traditional market) in the village of Rissani. We'll also pass through Tazzarine, once a thriving palm oasis with an intriguing Kasbah, before reaching the Draa Valley via N’kob. This valley is renowned as one of Morocco's most enchanting river landscapes. As we follow the course of the Oued Draa, Morocco’s longest river, you’ll be mesmerized by the endless palm oases and charming Berber villages adorned with typical Kasbahs. There's even the option to take a brief trek into the Oasis with a local guide. Our final destination for the day is Zagora, known as the “Gate to the Desert,” which was once the most crucial camel trail station. The historic sign stating “52 days to Timbuktu” remains a significant marker. You'll spend the night in a hotel typical of the region, providing a genuine cultural experience.

After breakfast, you have several options to explore. You can take a leisurely walk through the palm groves, oasis gardens, and fruit plantations along the riverbank. Alternatively, you might decide to visit the Ksar of Amezrou, known for its silver jewelry workshops, which you can explore. A short drive will then bring us to Tamgroute, a traditional pilgrimage site southeast of Zagora. This village is renowned for its pottery and is home to the 16th-century Zaouia Nassiriya order, adjacent to an old Koran library.

From Tamgroute, our journey will take us past the sand dunes of Tinfou and deeper into the desert, heading towards Mhamid, the southernmost oasis of the Draa Valley. Here, our adventure to the nearest sand dune region, known as the bivouac, begins. Until dusk, you have the opportunity to explore the dunes on foot or on camelback. A lovingly prepared dinner will await you, and you will spend the night in a nomad’s tent under the stars.
The journey will take us westward to the vast dune field of Chigaga, which is even more expansive than the Erg Chebbi near Merzouga. Our route traverses sand roads and a stone desert, leading deep into the Moroccan Sahara. Along the way, we will pause at the Source Sacré. This spring, surrounded by acacia and palm trees, feeds a small stream, creating a picturesque oasis in the middle of the desert. Following this, we will arrive at the majestic dunes of Erg Chigaga, where nomads still reside with their herds of camels. At our bivouac, you will have ample time to savor the magic of the endless desert in peace. Allow the beauty of the sunset to enchant you. You will spend the night in a nomad’s tent, fully immersing yourself in the serene ambiance of the Sahara.

We'll embark on our journey after breakfast, beginning with a westward drive towards Lac Iriki, a dry lake nestled in an awe-inspiring desert landscape. Along the route, we will pass a notable fossil site. As we continue with Jbel Bani constantly to our right, we’ll eventually arrive at the small village of Fam Zguid, an eye-catching oasis that appears almost unnaturally green after our days in the desert. Next, we will traverse through small settlements amidst palm groves and cross the Anti-Atlas mountains. Our journey will bring us to Taznaght, renowned for its carpet manufacturing, where we can visit one of the local carpet workshops. From Taznaght, we'll drive by the dark basalt mountains at the foothills of the 3,304-meter-high Jbel Siroua volcano. Our final destination is Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning Kasbah and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll spend the night in a guest house there.

Embark on an exhilarating two-hour trek to explore the caves and vibrant gardens of a Berber village. Afterward, prepare yourself for a breathtaking traverse through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, enjoying magnificent vistas along the way. We will then head back to the bustling city of Marrakech. As the sun begins to set, we'll drop you off at your charming Riad, marking the late afternoon and the picturesque conclusion of our 8-day Morocco Itinerary from Marrakech. However, the memories of ancient cities, vast deserts, and mountain adventures will undoubtedly linger, promising stories to share and experiences to cherish.
