3-days from Marrakech to Fez via Merzouga Desert

Embark on a 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes via the Merzouga Desert. Starting at 8:00 am, drive up the Tizi-n-Tichka pass at 2260 meters, admiring the beautiful countryside. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou before continuing to Ouarzazate and the Dades Valley, known as the “Route of the Thousand Kasbahs.” Explore the exotic landscapes, oases, and fortified clay villages, and visit Kasbah Ameridhil in Skoura. Travel through the Valley of Roses and Todra Canyon before spending the night in a local hotel. The next morning, head towards Merzouga, passing through the Ziz Valley and palm groves of Tafilalt. In Erfoud, visit a fossil workshop, then continue to the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. Enjoy a camel ride and watch a stunning sunset. Spend the night in nomadic tents or a hotel by the desert. In the morning, 3-Day Desert Tour to Fes via Merzouga Desert start from Marrakech begins at 8:00 am, setting out to reach the Merzouga Desert. Driving up the mountain pass of Tizi-n-Tichka, standing at 2260 m (7415 ft) above sea level, we will be able to admire a beautiful, diverse countryside. Afterwards, we will visit the old Ksar of Ait ben haddou, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Next, we will proceed to Ouarzazate and the Dades valley, known as the “Route of the Thousand Kasbahs”. Here, you’ll be able to take in the exotic landscape of oases and fortified villages made of rammed clay. Additionally, we’ll visit the Kasbah Ameridhil in Skoura, before heading to El Kalaa-des-mgoun via the Valley of Roses and dirt roads. Subsequently, we will traverse the breathtaking Todra canyon and its rugged, red rock faces. Finally, we will spend the night in a hotel characteristic of the country.
After breakfast, the journey will lead you in the direction of Merzouga. Along the way to Erfoud, we will pass through the Ziz Valley and palm groves of the Tafilalt, Morocco’s largest oasis region. Upon arriving in Erfoud, the capital of Tafilalt, you will have the chance to visit a fossil workshop. Consequently, in the afternoon we will reach the oasis of Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi, Morocco’s largest contiguous sandy desert area with towering dunes of up to 100 m in height. At this point, you may choose to spend the remainder of the day on a camel tour or take a leisurely stroll across the dunes, admiring the breathtaking sunset along the way. Moreover, you will have the option to stay in either nomadic tents in the midst of the dunes or a hotel at the edge of the desert.
Early morning, after our breakfast, our journey started from Marzouga. Driving through the Ziz Valley – one of the most beautiful valleys – and the second greatest Oasis, which contains good qualities of dates, we stopped to take a picture. We then continued on to Fes via Azrou, where we paused to admire the Barbary macaque and cedar forest. Afterward, we arrived at Ifran, the cleanest city in Morocco and the second cleanest city in the world, taking a short break before arriving at Fes.
